Who makes the final decision about whether I have my transplant?

Once all the tests are completed, a final decision will be made about whether your transplant operation can go ahead.
This is done at a monthly meeting at the transplant hospital.

Even though you might have most of your workup done at another hospital (for example, Middlemore Hospital
if you live in South Auckland), the final decision to go ahead with your operation is made by the transplant team in the hospital doing the kidney transplant.
